Brandon Belt is a professional baseball player who was born on April 20, 1988, to parents Darrell Belt and Janice Belt.

After high school, Belt was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 11th round (343rd overall) of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft as a pitcher but chose not to sign with them and instead followed through with his college commitment.

In 2009, Belt was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the fifth MLB draft round and made his major league debut with the team on March 31, 2011.

Since joining the Giants, Belt has established himself as one of the team’s most reliable and consistent players.

He is known for his strong defense at first base, as well as his excellent plate discipline and ability to hit for power and average.

In his first full season in the majors in 2012, Belt hit .275 with 17 home runs and 67 RBIs and followed that up with a breakout campaign in 2013, when he hit.

289 with 17 home runs and 73 RBIs. He continued to improve, being named an All-Star for the first time in his career in 2015 and setting career highs in home runs (18) and RBIs (82) in 2017. In 2018, he hit .253 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs.

Throughout his MLB career, Belt has hit a total of 104 home runs and has a relatively high job on base and slugging percentage, which helps him shoot a good number of home runs. 

He has been a consistent power source for the Giants, hitting over 20 home runs in a season three times, mostly playing as a first baseman and an outfielder, positions known for their offensive production.

In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Belt is also known for his philanthropic efforts off the field. He and his wife, Haylee, have been involved in various charitable causes, including supporting children’s hospitals and animal welfare organizations.
