On December 31, the racing organization confirmed the passing of Cale Yarborough, a legend in NASCAR. He was eighty-four.

The South Carolina native’s family claimed he was battling a rare genetic condition, and the obituary published by The Charlotte Observer stated that he was in terrible health.
