Michael Carey professional career 

Michael Carey is an Irish hurler known for his prowess on the field. 

He was born on 30th March 1999. He hails from Kilkenny and has made his mark playing for both his local club, Young Irelands, and the Kilkenny senior hurling team.

Starting his journey in hurling at a young age, Carey began his career with the Young Irelands club. 

He participated in various age groups and levels before becoming a valuable member of the club’s senior team.

On the inter-county stage, Carey’s talent shone through when he debuted for Kilkenny as a member of the minor team during the 2017 Leinster Championship. 

His first match took place on 8th April 2017, as a full-back in a resounding victory over Westmeath with a scoreline of 3–22 to 0–04.

After achieving early success, Carey won a Leinster Championship medal on July 2nd that year when Kilkenny defeated Dublin with a score of 3–15 to 1–17.

He continued to impress, earning a call-up to the Kilkenny under-21 team for the 2018 Leinster Championship.

Carey made his debut for the team on June 20th, 2018 as a halftime substitute during a fiercely fought match against Galway.

Joining the Kilkenny senior team marked another significant step in Carey’s hurling career. 

He made his senior team debut during the 2019 National League, playing against Limerick on 17th February. 

Although the match resulted in Kilkenny’s 2–18 to 0–15 defeat, Carey’s presence on the senior team reflects his exceptional skills and potential in the hurling world.
