Edwin Diaz’s brother- Alexis Diaz’s baseball journey

Alexis Omar Díaz is a talented professional baseball pitcher who plays for the Cincinnati Reds in Major League Baseball (MLB).

He was born on September 28, 1996, in Puerto Rico. The Reds picked Díaz in the 12th round of the 2015 MLB draft, and after several years in the minor leagues, he made his MLB debut in 2022.

Edwin Diaz brother made his professional debut for the Arizona League Reds, emerging in 9 games. Unfortunately, Díaz had to miss the entire 2016 season due to an injury but returned to the team in 2017.

In 13 appearances that season, he pitched to a 4.94 ERA with 40 strikeouts.

In 2018, Díaz performed for the rookie-level Greeneville Reds and recorded a 3-3 record and a 3.02 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 11 games. Nine of these games were starts.

He then split the 2019 season between the AZL Reds and the Single-A Dayton Dragons, where he had a 7-4 record and 5.19 ERA with 77 strikeouts in 59.0 innings pitched across 27 shows.

Díaz could not play in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of the minor league season.

However, he returned to the game in 2021 and played for the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts, where he had a 3.83 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 42.1 innings across 35 games.

Following the 2021 season, the Cincinnati Reds added Díaz to their 40-man roster on November 19, 2021, showing their confidence in his abilities.

On April 7, 2022, Díaz made the Opening Day roster out of Spring Training, and the following day, he made his MLB debut against the Atlanta Braves.

Díaz had a solid performance, tossing a hitless inning and collecting his first two strikeouts against Adam Duvall and Travis d’Arnaud.

Díaz performed well throughout the 2022 season, earning his first save on May 17, 2022, in the 10th inning against the Cleveland Guardians.

With his impressive pitching abilities, Díaz has quickly become a valuable player for the Cincinnati Reds, and fans are eager to see his continued growth and success in the future.
