Who is Erica Enders?

Erica Lee Enders, a renowned drag racing driver, was born in Houston, Texas, on October 8, 1983.

She has achieved many notable accomplishments throughout her career, including winning five championships in the Pro Stock class of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.

Enders grew up with a passion for racing and began competing at the age of 8 in junior dragster events.

Erica Enders had an early start in the sport of drag racing, winning the Division 4 Jr. Dragster championship in the 8 to 9-year-old class in 1993. She was later named Junior Dragster Driver of the Year in 1995.

At the young age of 16, Enders made history in 2000 as the youngest NHRA national event finalist by advancing to the final round of the Houston event.

She was also named NHRA Sportsman Rookie of the Year that same year.

Enders continued to make history by becoming the first woman to compete in the NHRA’s Pro Stock Category since 1993 in 2005.

That same year, she became the first woman in NHRA history to qualify in the top half of a Pro Stock field and the first woman to reach a final round in Pro Stock at Chicago.

In 2005, she won more round wins than any other female driver in NHRA Pro Stock history and was also a finalist for the “Road to the Future” award for the season’s top rookie.

One of her notable achievements was setting both sides of the NHRA National Record for Pro Stock, with a time of 6.464 seconds and a speed of 215.55 mph (346.89 km/h), at Englishtown, NJ, in 2014.

This accomplishment showcased her exceptional racing skills and put her on the map as a major player in the drag racing world.

Despite facing challenges, such as a fiery crash during a qualifying run in the NHRA Pro Mod class in Ohio in 2019, Erica Enders remains dominant in her sport.

She currently drives a twin-turbo 2019 Camaro for Elite Motorsports in the Pro Modified category and even holds the class record for the fastest speed at 261 mph.

Enders has remained active and is driving full-time in the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series’ Pro Stock division.
