Franco Harris Immaculate reception video was trending on the internet after people found out that he passed away on December 20, 2022.

It was confirmed that he was 72 years old at the time of his death. 

Franco was famous for the immaculate reception, and in between the 50th anniversary week of the “Immaculate Reception,” pro football’s greatest play in league history, he passed away. 

His death was confirmed by his son, who said that his father passed away overnight.

The cause of his death was found to be not known immediately. 

After his tragic death, condolences were shared by celebrities, sports figures, and politicians.

Sen. Jay Costa said he was a family friend on Harris’s passing. 

On the Immaculate Reception’s 50th anniversary, Coach Mike Tomlin did the Steelers press conference on Tuesday in which he was asked about Harris.  

Tomlin said, “He’s just a special man. Forget the player. Obviously, I never knew the player. I know the man and just what an awesome representation of this organization, this community, a guy that embraces all the responsibility that comes with being him.”

According to sources, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they had organized several events for Friday to celebrate the anniversary of Harris’ No. 32 because he was going to retire. 

Before 1990, he made his debut in his professional football career as the Pittsburgh Steelers No.1 pick.

Later, he was drafted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

To his honor, the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be flown at half-staff.
