Soon after Irons’ release from prison, the couple got married and gave birth to their first child.

Apparently, Maya wants to focus on her family now and hence made the decision to give up basketball after a wonderful career.

She confirmed her retirement on Monday in an interview in which she stated: “Well, I think it’s time to put a close to professional basketball life.”

The 33-year-old star has achieved a lot and won multiple accolades in her basketball career.

She played for the team of Minnesota Lynx with whom she won four WNBA championships. Moreover, she also has bagged two NCAA titles and two Olympic gold medals.

Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve presented her kind thoughts on the occasion of Moore’s retirement.

He made a statement on Monday night in which he congratulated Maya on her “amazing basketball career” and made kind regards on the behalf of the Minnesota Lynx organization.

The organization wished her luck in the next chapter of her life. Moore had amazing basketball stats and when she left playing basketball four years ago, she was in her prime.

After her successful basketball career, Moore decided to launch a social campaign, Win With Justice

She has also written a book with her husband named “Love and Justice” which is releasing later this week.
