However, it was the time when Erling first met Isabel, who was also working part-time at a fashion store.

The lovebirds were raised together at the club’s academy, and it’s assumed that they started dating each other in the course of Haaland’s period at Dortmund.

During the season, a source spoke about their relationship, “Erling has the world at his feet and women queuing up to be his partner. But he’s a very sensible lad, and it makes perfect sense he’s with a girl from his hometown who he’s known for years. He needs to be able to trust the people in his life and just concentrate on football.”

Isabel enjoyed a warm getaway during the World Cup break in 2022 as they headed to Haaland villa in sunny Marbella after Norway did not qualify for Qatar.

They were also spotted at the fancy Manchester restaurant on New Year’s Eve.

Lately, the couple celebrated Erling’s new £20 million contract with Nike with a buying trip to Oxford Street.

Isabel Haugseng Johansen’s boyfriend had been playing without a boot deal since his old contract expired in January.

Adidas and Puma had been to pinch Haaland, who was also once a long-term Real Madrid target.

But he opted for the deal with America-based Nike, joining team-mates Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne, as well as Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Harry Kane.

Early life & career

Erling was born on July 21, 2000, in Leeds. His father was playing for West Yorkshire at that time. His father, Alfie Haaland, was transferred to Manchester City, the club where his son would join from Borussia Dortmund 22 years later.

Prior to relocating to Manchester, Erling started his career at Byrne before moving to fellow Norwegian side Molde.

His skills were there for all to watch, and Red Bull Salzburg quickly made a move to grab the striker’s signature.

However, after 16 games for the club, German giants Borussia Dortmund signed him up.

Haaland played a total of 67 games and scored 62 goals for the Bundesliga outfit causing interest from Manchester City.

At that time, he was the most sought-after player in the football world, but it was Guardiola who managed to secure his skills in a £51.2 million worth deal.

Haaland scored in City’s Champions League quarter-final second leg on April 19, 2023, against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to put the tie beyond the German side.

They will now play against Real Madrid in the semi-finals, a side who were competing with Man City for the striker’s signature when it became apparent that he was thinking of saying goodbye to Dortmund.

As the club heads into the semis, he has 12 goals so far in eight in the 2022/23 Champion League campaign. It makes him the league’s top goal scorer by some distance. Haaland has 21 goals and 23 caps for his country as of April 2023.

The Norwegian striker is also a record-breaker. In 2006 he broke the long jump world record for five-year-olds by leaping 1.63 meters.
