Patrick Peterson signs a 2-year deal

According to a source who spoke to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers and free agency cornerback Patrick Peterson have reached a two-year contract agreement.

Peterson, who will turn 33 this summer, spent the last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings after spending the last ten years with the Arizona Cardinals, earning three All-Pro awards and eight Pro Bowl selections.

The interest from the Steelers “came out of left field,” according to Peterson, who discussed it on his podcast “All Things Covered” with former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden on Monday.

The Steelers are expected to replace veteran cornerback Cameron Sutton, who signed a three-year contract with the Detroit Lions earlier on Monday, with Peterson, who is older than the team’s average free agent acquisition.
