About Us

SportsFable is a practical sports and fitness resource. Everything here is built to be used: a training plan you can start on Monday, a gear comparison that actually helps you choose, an outfit you can put together, a routine you will come back to.

We write for men and women equally. Sport and fitness publishing has a long habit of splitting its audience and then thinning out one half. We do not. A hybrid training block, a running shoe comparison, a game day outfit guide, these are written to be genuinely useful whoever is reading them.

What we cover

Training — Plans, splits, drills and progressions. Structured programmes with a start and an end, from first-time beginner routines to hybrid strength-and-endurance blocks.

Style — Game day outfits, gym fits and activewear. What to wear to train in, and what to wear to watch in.

Gear — Shoes, home gym equipment and kit. Comparisons that explain the trade-offs instead of listing features.

Mindset — Discipline, routine and preparation. The part of training that happens before the session starts.

How we work

We publish under a written editorial policy. The short version:

  • Every article contains something you cannot get from a page of search results — a plan, a test, a comparison, or original visual work. We do not rewrite facts that already exist elsewhere.
  • Every image is ours or properly licensed. Our own photography, our own AI-generated artwork, or free stock with the licence on record. We do not use press or agency photographs of athletes.
  • Where we use AI to create images, we say so. Most illustrations on this site are generated with AI by us. Every one is captioned as such, and AI imagery here never depicts a real, identifiable person, event or product. We use it instead of licensed press photography, and we would rather be plain about that than let you assume you are looking at a photograph.
  • We link to primary sources for factual claims, and we correct mistakes openly rather than quietly deleting them. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it with a note explaining what changed.

We do not publish gossip, relationship stories, net worth speculation, or anything about an athlete’s private life. That is not a gap in our coverage. It is a deliberate exclusion, and it is the main reason this site looks different from most sports sites.

Who runs it

SportsFable is founded and edited by Sam Reid. Sam sets the editorial standards above, reviews everything published here, and is accountable for its accuracy.

Sam Reid is a pen name. The person behind it trains consistently and has competed at club level as an amateur, but holds no coaching or strength-and-conditioning qualification, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. The training content here is built from published research and written as a starting point, not personalised prescription. We think being straight about that matters more than a credential in a byline.
